Mark Pellon

I’m an energetic helper who currently lives in San Diego, California. My current helper classifications are  GSDCA National level helper, DVG Class 1 helper and Regional level helper for the USCA. I have been doing helper work for over 10 years now and was initially mentored by Fred Samseer and Carla van Duijvenbode of the Netherlands. In recent years I have been mentored by Steve House on trial helper technique and application, as well as training methods.

I want to thank the GSDCA for the opportunity to serve as a trial helper and I want to wish all of the competitors the best of luck in the Championship!

Meko Calderin – Rappahannock Working Dog Club

I am a member of Rappahannock Working Dog Club in Fredericksburg, Virginia. I started my journey at Virginia Beach Schutzhund Club. During my time there I was privileged to learn under the tutelage of Fred Samseer and Carla Van Duijvenbode. Both Carla and Fred introduced me to my passion and still continue to coach me today. Originating from the same club as Mark Pellon, we always envisioned having the opportunity to work a championship together. I am grateful to now have that opportunity. After moving to the Washington D.C. area, I have had the opportunity to surround myself with many great mentors and talented trainers and helpers; including Ron Marshall, Rory Kennedy, and Rod Davis.

I would like to extend a huge thank you to my coach and friend Steve House for pushing me and taking my potential to the next level. He truly has the passion and determination to better the sport. I would also like to extend a huge thank you to a few other mentors who have guided me along the way, and have taken the time to help me. Phil Hoelcher, Carl Smith, Wallace Payne, Jacob Pope, Chico Stanford, Marty Segretto, and Brian Hamilton.
